Honolulu Trade Show Booth Design

ET Expo designs, builds, ships and installs custom and rental exhibits for events at the Hawai'i Convention Center at the gateway to Waikiki, including events during its 2026-2027 rooftop renovation.

The 1.1 million sq ft center, designed by Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo and LMN, holds the 200,000 sq ft Kamehameha Exhibit Hall, divisible into thirds. The hall has a 35 ft ceiling, a 350 lb per sq ft floor load and 192 utility floor boxes on 30 ft centers carrying power, data, compressed air, water and drain. Construction shapes every schedule: a two-year rooftop project began on January 2, 2026, the ballroom and 4th floor are closed, and through 2026 and 2027 events run only on weekday evenings after 5:30 pm and on weekends, with weekday move-in also after 5:30 pm. The rooftop reopens in early 2028. We plan the design, fabrication, graphics, freight and installation around those windows.

Frequently asked questions

Can we exhibit at the Hawai'i Convention Center during the renovation?

Yes. The exhibit halls stay open on a modified schedule: through 2026 and 2027, events run on weekday evenings after 5:30 pm and on weekends, and weekday move-in starts after 5:30 pm.

How big can our crates be?

Docks take containers up to 45 ft long and 13 ft 6 in high, but the Hall II door is only 13 ft 11 in high and 18 ft 2 in wide, so we size crates for your hall.

Who rigs a hanging sign?

OnStage Hawai'i is the exclusive rigging contractor; it approves all rigging and installs anything over 50 lb. Rigging points are in the Level 1 exhibit halls and the Level 4 ballroom.

Is there parking at the center during construction?

The garage has been a construction storage area since January 5, 2026, with no public parking; limited weekend stalls may be available case by case.
