Baltimore Trade Show Booth Design
ET Expo designs, builds, ships and installs custom and rental exhibits for shows at the Baltimore Convention Center, One West Pratt Street.
The BCC has 300,000 sq ft of contiguous exhibition space, but ceiling height changes a lot from hall to hall: Halls A-D run 16.8-30 ft, Hall E 11-30 ft, the Swing Hall 14.6-30 ft, Hall F 29-30 ft and Hall G 18.2-30 ft, and any structure must stay at least 18 in below the ceiling. That is the first thing we check before designing a tower or a second level. The exhibit floor is rated at 350 lb per sq ft, 23 loading docks serve the building, and trucks and equipment can drive directly onto the floor. Our work covers 3D design, in-house fabrication, graphics, LED walls, freight, installation, dismantling and storage.

What does a double-deck booth need at the BCC?
A floor plan showing the second level's load capacity at least 90 days before the first event day, two means of egress from any load-bearing area over 200 sq ft, and final approval from the Baltimore City Fire Department.
Does an LED wall need union labor?
Yes. The center's labor agreement puts video/LED walls, towers and truss under IATSE Local 19, and labor requests are due 30 days before the work.
Can we ship the booth ahead to the convention center?
Only if the shipment is arranged with CharmCity PASS, the center's package and shipping service, where storage and handling fees apply.
Does a covered booth need fire protection?
A single-level booth over 300 sq ft with a ceiling needs a fire extinguishing system approved by the fire department, and every enclosed or covered area needs an extinguisher and an audible smoke detector.
